Yard Sale Girl
May 9, 2007 – 8:58 pmGot a box full of promo cd’s,
got some jeans with holes in the knees,
got some salt and pepper shakers,
got a dirty old, coffee maker.
All your stuff, laid out in the front yard,
selling old make-up, even if it’s gotten hard.
Got an ashtray you stole from your brother,
Old hair dryer, you have another.
All your life for the world to see,
junk to you, but it’s treasure to me.
I want to talk, don’t know what to say,
Can’t wait to see you, on yard sale day.
All this stuff baking in the sun,
your sale goes on till the day is done.
I always wonder how you feel,
when you give someone, a yard sale deal.
Yard sale girl, I know times are tough,
but I really hate, to see you sell your stuff.
Yard sale girl, why are you selling?
All the secrets, that you aren’t telling.

Those jeans with holes in the knees are worth a fortune in Japan.
Yard sales are great places to cruise.
Nice poem.
