You’re right–Obama and Clinton don’t stand a chance of getting elected.
But I’m glad Barack is in there, bringing some new life to the party. At least he can get a conversation going that we might not otherwise hear, especially with the pandering likes of Hillary about.
I don’t get the utter incompetency of the Democratic Party in the last two presidential elections–maybe the Republicans are putting brain-damaging chemicals in Democratic water coolers (hey, they’ve already got Diebold).
The Republican Party run its campaigns better because it’s amoral, conscienceless, and completely without principle.
I think Al Gore has a real shot.
I’d like to see a Gore/Edwards ticket.
I hope you don’t mind me using my stock reply on this subject:
Gore is biding his time in the catbird seat, and can afford to wait for a possible smackdown between Clinton, Obama, and Edwards. After the carnage, he could come waltzing in like Fred Astaire on a hot date with Ginger Rogers.
Gore would be looking very light on his feet as a candidate with real polit-cred, and an intellect to match.
Bringing Edwards to the dance would make the “stiff†very sexy indeed.
Loren: As a loyal (daily) visitor to your site I feel moved to make a request. Please pull your intellectual skewer out and gently insert into Al Gore’s… well, you know. Vince MUST be set straight… for the good of the country and all
Notice the not-so-subtle attempt to ingratiate himself with Loren– does it really matter how often he visits the site?
Doesn’t WTL know that assorted reprobates and assholes are the most frequent visitors to this site, because so many of them hate Loren?
I’d like to remind this delusional victim of mass hypnosis that Al Gore won the popular vote, because the majority of the people in this country knew Bush was a corrupt, lying servant of his ‘base’ , the undeserving rich.
I’ve been trouble commenting in here (not sure why) but I just have to chime in on this one.
The Republicans will win because they had candidates who are serious, and aren’t just spewing soundbites and taking potshots at the people who are in charge. Actually, the freaking DEMOCRATS are in charge, not that you’d know it listening to them.
The Democrat-controlled congress now has a 28% approval rating, which is even more miserable than Bush’s. That’s an accomplishment.

Todd,
Now that California and New York have moved up there primaries, there will be even less incentive for them to do so (and more incentive for Republicans to spend less time in the heartland as well)…
My request for Loren’s take on your ludicrous assertions regarding Al Gore was not an attempt at ingratiation. I just think his would be a hilarious take on who is, in reality, a ludicrous individual.
As for you, my simple-minded friend…. I consider GWB perhaps the worst Prez in U.S. history. LBJ being a close second. Do you seriously consider Al Gore a qualified individual to lead this country? Do you also find yourself in the Kia automall when looking for the Ultimate Driving Machine?
As for the “assorted reprobates and assholes” who visit this site frequently… Call yourself what you will, I shall not cast myself into your lot.
The remarkable thing about wacky leftists these days is that they sound incredibly familiar. Let’s see… completely intolerant of debate, the other side is evil, damn the rich, we were robbed. I vaguely remember reading of speeches reflective of this tone about 70 years ago.. from a little country called Germany. Oh what was that guy’s name….?
Let’s see, in this thread you’ve used the words/phrases: light on his feet, stiff, fuck, ass, kissing, faggot, cowboy, assholes, stones and crack. Are YOU trying to tell us something Vincent?
Wow you move fast, If you remember I commented yesterday about the podtech player being visible in Goggle reader.
Well I fire up my reader stream today and who’s ugly mug is staring back at me framed by a podtech player.
I’m grateful that you stayed up all night and hand coded it just for me. Many Thanks.
ReplyThe ugly mug I’ll take credit for, the coding credit goes to Mike Klinger and the rest of the Podtech tech crew. They are top notch.

ReplyYou just had to work the word “stiff” into there, didn’t you…
ReplyI take pride in my work, Josh.

Gore 2008. LOL

ReplyYou’ll have to deal with Vince directly on this. It’s his site as much as it is mine.

ReplyMaybe the democrats should spend a little more time outside NYC,LA,SF, etc.. and see what life is really like in the red…

ReplyExactly right Todd

ReplyWe need old-time populist rabble-rousers in the Democratic Party– people with soul and passion, who speak plainly.
People who would out the ass-kissers who rode their way to Cabinet jobs and rein in the swashbuckling crooks who got fat contracts in Iraq.
People who would find a way to see Rove and Cheney indicted.

ReplyBless my soul, it’s going to be a good old-fashioned hair-puller.
I’m more in the habit of reproving the Reprobate-in-Chief than reproving the reprobates who call me names, but since you insist:
I don’t know you, and I’m sure your mother wishes she didn’t, but it gladdens my heart to inform you that (as my gonzo attorney says)–
If Al Gore had shot a gun and ridden a horse, he’d be in his second term as President today.
As any faggot like me knows, you don’t have to BE a cowboy, you just have to look like one in photo-ops.

ReplyDear Mr. Rich and Greedy:
You know, that Republican crack is just no damned good.
If you take everything I say literally, you’re beyond help–
but I promise you one thing, if you said that to my face, you wouldn’t be standing.
You don’t have the stones, hiding behind your nic.
I believe it’s called the last refuge of a scoundrel.
ReplyPresumptuous on four accounts. Plus one incorrect use of diction. If you can’t take the heat as they say….
ReplyI think I’m corresponding with George Will.
Will you admit you’re gay?

Too easy
ReplyWWGWD,
I love you, man.;-)
ReplyWell I’m glad we were able to kiss and make up.
ReplyYou made me laugh.
