Ok, very interesting, especially the bit about SEOs. Do you think we’re going to see a lot of video spam? Has Google already come up with an algorithm to rank videos or are they going to continue to use tags + content around the video? If they did indeed come up with a wonderful new way to rank videos vs pages, why aren’t we seeing in-video tags on Google Vid/Gootube?
Its in the meta data and the fact that they are working on a massive voice recognition initiative via goog-411 they will audio search as well as images search within the video. Audio is already here. They will also consider the text on the page the vid came from. Lot’s of different ways. Those fucking guys are way smarter than me bro, they’ll figure it out.
Very interesting… I still think that text search results are going to come back first and I disagree about people wanting to watch videos all the time; one benefit of looking at text is you can flip through it very quickly and see if it’s what you want or not.
That said, it’d be nice to have the option of watching a cute chick talk about what you are researching. Or a grouchy guy in an undershirt and three days of stubble, depending on your mood.
This will create more of a divide between ‘consumer’ and ‘business’ search. Video search results are less valuable to a business user due to often negative perceptions in the office of audio clips. Up until now, we haven’t seen too much of a need for Google to identify whether a search if performed in a business or consumer context but they may need to now.
I hope the gay guy gets a pass to dispense clothing advice:
You look sexy in black. I think you should lose the white v-necks, and try a black round-neck tee with a green stone bead necklace.
You’ll knock ‘em dead.
People who make videos should have at least a rudimentary knowledge of human psychology. They should learn also what one can do with one’s face, and how to project emotions.
It may sound narcissistic, but the best place to learn is in front of a mirror.
James Dean was a master of projecting, and I believe that anyone who wants to act, or make videos, would profit by studying his many photos.
The assumption here is that video is going to be on top or, for that matter, any image, audio, or other type of media will be placed above text serps. However, this assumption is only based on what’s happened thus far and not necessairly indicative of how results will be shaped in the future. In order to be fully integrated, Google will hopefully deliver results in order of RELEVANCY — not the type of media format displayed. Therefore, the first five results might be text, followed by a video result, followed by the remaining results of the page in varying format. It wouldn’t make sense from a user experience point of view to always put video on top. Though its hopeful, and understandable thinking, for a video producer to want such massive exposure, I think we need to be realistic about what google has always stuck true to — getting people what they need as fast as possible. Hence, the initiatives with personalization.
There’s no doubt, however, that video will now get more exposure and thus podtech and 1938 media might get rich, fat, and prosper. However, I’d refrain from whipping out the champagne to soon.

He knew what he was about.
