Twitter Is Dying

I like friendfeed better. BTW I’m testing a new echo effect I learned here.

What are people saying?

I wouldn’t say “true threaded conversations,” only because I can’t really reply directly to another comment.
But I completely agree that the conversations going on on FriendFeed are of much higher quality than those on Twitter, or anywhere else for that matter.

Loren is a racist? Small world. I was called a racist just yesterday, as well as bi-polar and a luddite.

However, I was called these things by a self- important twit of a tech blogger.

I don’t really like tech bloggers, for the most part. I might, if the blogosphere had more honest brokers like Loren.

Talk to us about Verizon in your next piece, please.

When I first started watching your videos I was amused because you did a good job of pointing out how silly the whole ‘Web 2.0′ thing is, and I couldn’t agree more. Lately it seems like you’re becoming just as silly as all those people you love to trash, and I’ve lost all interest… shame.

Twitter dead, maybe. It sure isn’t very stable. But friendsfeed? I guess I’m not interested in the conversations, so I stick with socialthing to follow what my friends are doing online.

It may be over for the few ultra-early adopters such as yourself, but the rest of the world is only just catching onto Twitter, now that it’s service is getting more stable and it’s worst outages are hopefully behind it.

That’s why they are still growing at such an incredible pace. Compare the Compete.com graph for Twitter and Last.fm for example - it’s unbelievable, and Last.fm got sold for $280m let’s not forget. Twitter is a sure winner - if i could buy stock i would.

Just saw that brilliant TechNigga video and I am absolutely disgusted by how low someone who is seemingly as intelligent as yourself can behave.

First of all, I didn’t know that technology was a race thing and that it would be necessary for black tech bloggers to segregate themselves from the rest of tech bloggers. But obviously you deem it necessary and think that we can’t and don’t currently contribute to sites like Engadget, Gizmodo, CNet or even to development and advancement of the web as a whole

I am a black female user interface designer. For nearly seven years I have worked with some of today’s leading web firms and web media agencies. Black people are very much apart of the development of today’s web. But you seem to think that everyone in this industry just looks like you.

Secondly as a Jewish man, whose own ethnicity is often unfairly targeted, I find it shocking that you in turn would target a race group with such malicious intent. You whip out every stereotype and apply it in the cruelest way. You cast all black people as ignorant but show your own ignorance. So I am not shocked that your company is called 1938media. Because your ideas are so antiquated that they must predate that era.

Just deleted my friendfeed account. It’s not the product, it’s the people who use the product. I just can’t take the double/triple postings of self important assholes anymore.

I deleted my twitter account for the same reason. I didn’t give a fuck about scalability issues. It was the community.

The “a-list” bloggers have created an illusion that this shit is somehow important or that it matters to the majority. It’s not, and it doen’t. The fact is that twitter got millions with NO BUSINESS PLAN. Are you fuckin’ kidding me? The majority of folks would think that’s ridiculous.

Hey, I gotta great idea! Lets spend millions of dollars so folks like ‘IgorTheFuckinClown’ can tell people to suck a dick. ya, genius.

Scoble had a better idea. He wanted to use the “communications tool” for emergency services, and the people bought it. Actually, people went out and spent even more money building bullshit services wrapped around twitter. Sorry about their luck.

The same shit is going to happen with friendfeed, Loren. These social network addicts want this shit pumped in their veins at an alarming rate - and they need a double dose because they’re so fuckin numb to the echo. Twitter just couldn’t keep up with demand. That the audience.

Anyway, that’s why I’m done with this bullshit.

I Was reading this quote and thought about you. I don’t really understand it being that I’m just a dumb redneck but it sounded cool.

    peace

Dick, you taking life to seriously! Social Media networks are not about productivity but about hype!

    You want productivity use Intranet!

If we lucky maybe a few specks of good will be advocated via Social Media networks!

Do not be so judgmental of people! It is just a big farce! Nothing new!

It’s amazing how you have managed to stick your foot so far in your mouth that you can dance on yesterday’s dinner. You’re not as smart as your “tech talk” has lead viewers to believe.

It’s totally baffling. Why would you let your stupidity swindle you out of such lucrative deals?

    What an idiot….

Man, the trolls really have invaded here!

Loren has done the right thing by giving Shel Israel the domain and moving on..

Yes, Loren does some very edgy stuff and takes risks he shouldn’t, but he is LISTENING to the community and responding. He’s done it with the Shel Israel stuff and I’m impressed.

We all know Loren does make some very funny and intelligent commentary, so give him a chance to get back to that..

Calacanis and Arrington are writing critical articles about Twitter because if FriendFeed is successful, then they will be successful since they’ve been rewarded with default follower status on Friendfeed. So every time someone joins Friendfeed, they are introduced to Arrington etc. Mashable gets free advertising as well (I assume it was free; I don’t know if Cashmore or any of the default followers had any behind the scenes dealings with FriendFeed). But Mahalo and Mashable’s success will now be driven off the back of FriendFeed. Congratulations to them if their exposure was really free. Now the question is, why isn’t Loren Feldman a default featured FriendFeed user?

Sorry, but while I will use FriendFeed, I remain loyal to Twitter because it’s more free. When I post a comment to Scoble’s feed on FF, he can just delete me. On Twitter, I can comment on his tweets and he can’t delete my comment on his tweets, he can only block me from following him, but not really because I can still look up his page and read him.

Where do you think the First Amendment will be able to stay alive if you don’t protect it from the net nannies and influencers like Scoble?
