Hugh moves his hands a LOT when he speaks– I almost got motion sickness;-)
I can’t buy his proposition that “It’s not the objects that are interesting, it’s the conversations that gravitate around them.”
This idea may or may not be the foundation of social media and the ‘new’ marketing, but if I apply it to a work of art, for example, I’m faced with the unhappy specter of the critics’ delusion that it’s their WORDS that give the object meaning.
I don’t believe that.
