She

She walks in the room,
the furniture looks as the art weeps,
the windows sweat and the ceiling strains for a better view,
the floor just sighs.
Rich men feel poor as they remember their youth, and the disappointment.
The longing that made them the men they are today.
Beautiful women touch their hair, trying not to feel like they are suffocating.
Their eyes move like a predators, looking for a weakness.
If you listen closely, you can hear the desperate wails of the contempt.
She gazes upon you, and your sins illuminate like neon.
All of the bad bones in your body start to ache,
and you wish you would have done things differently.

I would have tried to run before her gaze fell on me. Of course, wouldn’t have made it out in time…
This is a real subtle scorcher. When did you write it?
Replylong time ago
ReplyDamn, Loren, I didn’t know you wrote poetry. Nice.
Have you ever read She, by H. Rider Haggard?
Ayesha, the protagonist of the book, was mentioned by both Freud and Carl Jung as a female archetype.
Replyyeah i dabble, not sure if this is poetry, Brucey’s the webs poet. I’m just an old jock trying to impress the artsy chicks. It relaxes me, this one doesn’t rhyme, usually they rhyme. I’m like an obsessed two year old with the rhyming.
I haven’t read much of anything to be honest.
ReplyIt’s really nice. Wish I could write like that.
ReplyStephan,
You can, the code for Terapad is your poetry.
ReplyThanks Loren. _wipes tears_
ReplyI’ve been watching you Tual, the web would be a much better place if there were more execs like you. A smart smart ass who seems to give a shit.
ReplyNot bad, Feldman… not bad at all.
ReplyThanks Clark, for some reason I think I might give a shit what you think. About the written word at least.
ReplyTHAT IS BEAUTIFUL & AMAZING…I GUESS EVERYONE HAS THEIR SECRETS.
ReplyTrue talent is seen when someone excels at a skill out of their norm. You clearly showed us that today. I know you’re a damn good blogger, but this was a pleasant surprise.
