Seesmic Review

December 16, 2007 – 9:03 pm

It’s shitty in so many ways it’s hard to keep track. They are treating invites like Wonka tickets which is a joke. You are not missing anything at all. Promise. Just record a vid instantly on YouTube and post the link on twitter and call it a day.

I’ve been waiting for this review because I knew you would fuckin’nail it, sir.

  3. You don’t really work on a farm do you Dick? I don’t really give a shit truthfully, but you know a lot about this tech shit. Although a fucking farmer would have more common sense than these guys I guess. Nevermind.

By Loren Feldman on Dec 16, 2007

  4. Sorry for being so idiotic, shitty and fake, I apologize. Ah yes, forgot to apologize for being french too ?

By Loic Le Meur on Dec 16, 2007

  5. horrible porn site?
    not my impression at all.
it must have done something to tweak you though. great to see suh a strong reaction to technology.

By alphabunny on Dec 16, 2007

  6. Hehe, and I shall apologise for being both European and French speaking, for posting in the dark occasionaly and having a few conversations.

It’s a great place and many people I know on Seesmic I know IRL. It’s a nice community once you become part of it.

By warzabidul on Dec 16, 2007

  7. You are right about one thing. It’s a horrible waste of time to click on a video just to watch some douchebag talk about nothing. Sorry I clicked on this one.

Thank God for intellectual, witty, and FRENCH people that bring some happiness to this world! :)

    By Alicia l'Americaine on Dec 16, 2007

  8. You sir are an idiot.
The fact that you are trashing video as a means to start a conversation is laughable, or did you forget you were filming yourself whilst giving this review?

By William Tildesley on Dec 16, 2007

  9. seesmic is way over hyped. i’m glad someone else has seen the light. if you have to work that hard at selling your product, it’s probably not worth that much to begin with.

By guyonseesmic on Dec 16, 2007

  10. William,

I wasn’t starting a conversation, I didn’t ask for or care what your opinion is. I was lecturing you. Understand the difference?

By Loren Feldman on Dec 16, 2007

  11. “Idiot” is the same word in English and in French, and it is a perfect word for you too Loren ;)

    By Pierre-Yves on Dec 16, 2007

  12. nice way to get attention Loren, congratulations, I actually had some fun watching you, thank you for that, you should come back to Seesmic we would have interesting conversations.

By Loic Le Meur on Dec 16, 2007

  13. Loren.

If that is the case then you have completely missed the whole point of “blogging”.

    Let me quote you something:

“A blog (short for weblog) is an online journal or diary of an individual’s opinions and latest news that is updated regularly, in chronological order. Many blogs allow visitors to make comments, or “postings” in response to the blogger, or ask questions.”

In particular look at the last sentence

“Many blogs allow visitors to make comments, or “postings” in response to the blogger, or ask questions.”

By allowing me and others to comment on your blog you have started a conversation. If you didn’t need my opinion and the point of posting that video was to lecture me then why did you allow me to comment?

I know that you like to make controversies(I don’t think I need to remind you of that rather racist video you made a while back?) and I mean why wouldn’t you, you get a little more traffic to your blog than normal.

By William Tildesley on Dec 16, 2007

  14. Loren,

Are you aware Seesmic is pretty much pre-alpha? What they are doing is an experiment and while that lends them arguably unwarranted buzz, it doesn’t negate the fact that the service is a work in progress.

You mainly bash the content and aesthetic of Seesmic’s site, which has nothing to do with the exciting elements of what they seem to be striving for: the proper framework for instant, mobile and open video conversations that are closer to the speed of Twitter as opposed to normal videoblogging.

This post strikes me as uninformed shtick and my guess is that your aim is to garner attention by being divisive — like every terrible political pundit radio and cable ‘news’ show — and harvest uniformed users who can’t tell the difference between someone who knows what they’re talking about and someone who masquerades as someone whose opinion matters by getting arbitrarily angry over the topic of the day and passing it off as valuable commentary via blunt ‘honesty.’

You’re also obviously a racist which is inexcusable.

Remember how everyone laughed at Twitter for being useless? I suggest everyone mark today on their calendars and in a year we revisit the topic of instant video posting and evaluate Seesmic’s contribution.

In the meantime, you should consider taking a daily nap or getting better sleep because it could help brighten your mood in general; you look very tired, which I don’t mind saying since in your video you make value judgments about people’s appearance/attractiveness.

By Joe on Dec 16, 2007

  15. Ok Loren,

First of all, let’s see your points :

    - The flash loader.
    - The flash site.
    - The design.

So now, the concept: Are you kidding? How the hell can you think seesmic is shit? The idea came fast, and was brilliantly executed. How the hell can you injury people like this? What the hell do you think you are?? Are looking for some kind of bad trashtalker style? What happened to your brain? dude, seriously?!

I don’t give a shit about what YOU say, because I’ll use seesmic, but right now, it’s still an ALPHA version (you know that? ALPHA?)…

And as soon I can, I’ll organise a burp contest on seesmic. Just pronounce a word, and I’m sure you’ll win.

Olivier, one of the random french douches.

By Olivier on Dec 16, 2007

  16. I love all the people calling Loren a racist. I know him personally. NONE of you do. The man is OBVIOUSLY not a racist so get the hell over yourselves.

Secondly, he made some valid points in the review. If your stupid asses watched it instead of looking for something to be offended for, you’d realize he was pretty much right. The interface sucks, the quality is dreadful, and the idea of having to watch multiple RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE: videos to see a reply. Oh, and the Flash use on the entire site?

SUCKS, and it’s slow as ass.

So maybe all you wounded Frenchmen should pay better attention and stop venting your inferiority complexes as cries of racism.

    Pay attention, and learn.

By Vinny on Dec 16, 2007

  17. I take offense to the unattractive part, too. :)

    By Alicia l'Americaine on Dec 16, 2007

  18. Loren

You obviously know how to attract a crowd. Good marketing strategy. Your rudeness is going to make you a hit. Congratulations.

I’ve met Loic and he’s not a fake. And who gives a shit if someone is French or not.

good points, sounds like your video :)

By Loren is a gay name on Dec 16, 2007

  22. I love when the French get their panties in a wad… they almost act human :-)

By Tiga Beck on Dec 16, 2007

  23. Vinny (and Tiga),

Not that it matters, but I’m not French and am an American citizen and was born here, so this isn’t about French people complaining.

I also have no stake whatsoever in Seesmic, but think it’s completely silly and a disservice to good ideas everywhere to dismiss the validity of an invite-only alpha-phase service based on usability — the problems of which are the very point for having test users! Users who voluntarily contribute valuable input on how to work the kinks out of a service that is NOT YET PUBLIC. E.g. streamline important things like how to easily reply in a way that doesn’t make every video get lost in a pile.

It’s almost absurd, do you guys have any awareness of open source style community that gave us software like Firefox? Guess what? That was a pretty shitty browser at first.

More than racist undertones I think the point here is more that Loren seems to be employing a gimmicky abrasive persona to garner attention (minus any intelligent irony/humor e.g. Steven Colbert) — but, regarding race, it’s relevant to acknowledge video host Podtech booted Loren because of videos like this:

    1938media.com/where-are-the-black-tech-bloggers

As for the above post about Seesmic, I think the money line on top of the way he throughout says ’some FRENCH dude’ is:

Loren Feldman: “Everybody is European or French or British. As we know, Americans hate foreigners. Like the first thing I want to do when I log on is hear some dude with an accent — are you kidding me?”

And, for everyone’s benefit, according to UN International Conventions:

“The term “racial discrimination” shall mean any distinction, exclusion, restriction or preference based on race, color, descent, or national or ethnic origin which has the purpose or effect of nullifying or impairing the recognition, enjoyment or exercise, on an equal footing, of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural or any other field of public life.”

By Joe on Dec 17, 2007

  24. Joe,

You are truly a fucking idiot regardless of race or nationality.

By Loren Feldman on Dec 17, 2007

  25. Know what’s really interesting? Whenever somebody uses the word “douchebag” on the Internet, the aforementioned douchebags start coming out of the woodwork. It’s almost like a hunting or mating call.

“Shhh…If you listen really closely, you can hear the prissy whine of the Internet Douchebag. They’re really aggressive this time of year. They are particularly attracted to people who don’t agree with them, and Facebook widgets.”

By Art Lindsey III on Dec 17, 2007

  26. Who are you and why do you matter?

By Josh on Dec 17, 2007

  27. Josh,

My name is Ze, and I do cute uplifting videos.

By Loren Feldman on Dec 17, 2007

  28. Loren hits a lot of good points here, but they may very well be addressed through site improvement.

    What Loren failed to mention:

    1) in a corporate environment, we’d all look pretty silly seesing from our cubes, or closing our office doors to offer a video comment. Quite silly, or quite unemployed.

    2) it’s ultimately a waste of bandwidth, however you slice it. I spent 16 years working in teevee, and if all you’re going to offer is unedited, poorly-lit webcam video — then the addition of pictures is doing nothing to advance the communication.

I’m not saying some people won’t do better. But most will — what’s the word — suck.

Frankly, if we want to talk about people using visuals to advance a message, you see more of it with people using smilies or changing their Twitter icons. Yes, I get the whole “how-much-of-communication-is-nonverbal” bit. I’m just not willing to commit to a community that misuses so much bandwidth in a wasteful fashion.

Loren - I eagerly await the comparisons between myself and Pol Pot, or some other incarnation of Godwin’s Law. Can’t wait for these folks to start researching me to find out what’s in my closet, just because I disagree with them.

By Ike on Dec 17, 2007

  29. A few years ago, invites to gmail were treated like the golden ticket as well, and this little company called google was criticized for doing so. Looks like they’ve really suffered from all that criticism.

By Enjoying Your Traffic, Loser? on Dec 17, 2007

  30. Dear Loren Feldman,

—> Taking time to write a comment on your website means that you are good, maybe very good, at marketing strategy because I do not know you at all.

Maybe you should say thank you to Loic Le Meur because I came to your website thanks to him.

Unfortunately, he is French so, as an American, it seems that you do not like him.

So, who is Loren Feldman ?

    According to your website :

Loren Feldman is the President of 1938 Media. Loren directs the overall operations of the company and is responsible for corporate development and strategic planning. Prior to founding 1938 Media, Loren founded and published NY Hotshot magazine and was a creative director at MusicVision, an interactive advertising agency, where he developed online advertising campaigns for companies such as Nokia and Scion. Before focusing exclusively on the internet, Loren worked as an actor and independent filmmaker in Los Angeles. Loren is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the New York Friars Club.

It seems that you have a successfull background in the internet business.Congratulations!

Now you have another internet company.

Are you jealous of the success of the little French guy who met YOUR president and founded a company in YOUR country ?

    You said :
“Everybody is European or French or British. As we know, Americans hate foreigners. Like the first thing I want to do when I log on is hear some dude with an accent — are you kidding me?”

Since I am weak at History, could you remind me what is an American citizen ?

Long time ago, I heard it is somebody who comes from another country……except if you have indian roots.
I guess you are kind of foreigner ;-)

Enjoy life and remember Loic Le Meur s positive attitude which also helped you to develop your company and also gave you hope while you were an actor.

You cant really be that stupid can you?

By Loren Feldman on Dec 17, 2007

  32. @Enjoying Your Traffic, Loser?:

You are not really comparing Seesmic to Google, are you? That is laughable.

I got a golden ticket (it’s so Mike Teevee!), and used it once. And cannot figure out why to go back.

But, hey, I got in early!! Yay for early adoption!!! And, I’ll give it a chance and see what happens as it matures.

Did you block my shit, sir? I couldn’t leave another comment for some reason. Nevermind. Yeah, I live on a farm. Why would I BS about some stupid shit like that?

By Dick on Dec 17, 2007

  34. My apologies, Loren.

I meant to include the phrase “empowerment of mass-societal narcissism” somewhere in my previous comment. That’s the only viable explanation as to how mere users of a webservice can internalize your criticism to the point of searching your bio for reasons to dislike you.

By Ike on Dec 17, 2007

  35. Dick

I would never ban you, you know that. You are one smart fucking farmer dude.

  37. Loren

I don’t know that much about this tech shit. But, its not exactly rocket science, right? Some of this shit can be used for the shit I’m doing, but farmers really have no need for it. Period.

I watch cats like you, that little fuck Pepper, Hugh and a few other cats. I just try and apply what I learn out here amongst the geeks with some folks I think I can help.

I took what you said about the companies that matter to heart. That shit makes sense to me for some reason. I like helping cats learn about using cheap free media, but I’m trying not to get wrapped up in all the bullshit out here. I stick with flickr, youtube, email and wordpress. Thats just how I roll. I’m a fuckin idiot with no education and I get this shit.

You have a way of keeping people grounded and a style all of your own. I just wish you would do more videos like the metal shop. That shit was raw.

Fuckin with these geeks is just like you said “taking candy from a fuckin baby” I’m enjoying the show/

    peace

  42. I’m french, almost. I’m unattractive, almost. And you do have points there, most of them will be solved in the future with threading, then you won’t have to care about other people. and the api will help you being away from flash interface. what else ?
ah else is you: showing off, nothing new for *some* americans.

By Let's use our time for better things... on Dec 17, 2007

  49. You know what, it’s terribly terribly easy to be vitriolic and not terribly bright all at the same time. In fact, a lot of the time rudeness and stupidity seem to go together.

Your video was amusing, yes, and you’ll get a bunch of traffic ‘cos it was (and you are) a pretty rude guy. Some of the criticisms you have are probably valid. But at the end of the day I have a suspicion that you’re probably not the best person to comment.

I’d rather spend time hearing from someone who not only has a point but can put it across with some kind of elegance. Maybe that’s what you Yanks need to understand about Europe - we’re rather better at intelligence…

I’m not keen on Seesmic either, btw. ;-)

Don’t bother replying. I’m sure you’ll struggle to put anything witty together. Tell you what, I’ll save you the effort:

Loren Feldman Says: “fucking European arsehole”

    ok?

By Mike on Dec 17, 2007

  50. Not sure what the hoopla is all about. We all know Mae West’s PR rule #1: “I don’t care what they say about me as long as they spell my name right.” So I guess we’ve got a home run for both teams here.

Sure, I would not be *delighted* to be on the receiving end, but the video was pretty funny, especially in its contradictions. I think the American bit was as much making fun of Americans as it was making fun of the French. Maybe you need to understand the American sense of humor to get it.

At any rate, it’s always good to get trashed now and then. Makes for a great BS and complacency detector. I’m sure the product will get better as a result.

    Lighten up, people.

    By Jean-Michel Decombe on Dec 17, 2007

  51. Loren is so funny and moreover he uses a french videoplayer (i.e Dailymotion) to say Europeans suck. Fortunately there are some guys like him to have fun on the Internet.

Just a question : do you know what means “pre-alpha release” ?

By VinZ on Dec 17, 2007

  52. I believe you guys didn’t catch Loren’s message true nature.

He’s actually helping us. Helping us feel a little better.

I mean, I remember how I felt this morning before watching his video. Terrible. I mean, I have been in Seesmic’s invite queue for so long, I was close to total despair.

And now I feel OK. Really. I know I’ll get by.

There is more in life than Seesmic. I don’t deserve to feel rejected. I’m a human being, goddamn it. My life has value.

Thank you Loren. You’re a saint.

  53. many good points except the flash issue. i totally disagree. the flash/flex framework IS the future, especially with the new papervision3D implementation. while flash loaders might be so 90’s, ajax has proved its limits in cross-browsers compatibility. get over it : web 3.0 won’t be ajax, but AS3/flex/papervision3D.

I THINK NOT! At least I’ve never seen any evidence of such.

Long live Nicholas Sarkozy! <<<Best thing to happen to France since Operation Overlord. <<< look it up, it’s real history, not the rewritten/made up kind they teach the kids in school today.

  74. For those who wonder about American sense of humor, I am 100% French and proud of it, I have spent half of my life in France, and the other half in the US, and I can unequivocally say that the American sense of humor gives the French one, at least as of 2007, a serious beating any day of the week, both on film (Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm, etc.) and on paper (David Sedaris and other New Yorker writers come to mind). Sorry, the French are good at many things, but they are definitely not the best at having a sense of humor (except the supersophisticated kind, but its masters are all dead now). The sense of humor on French TV is fucking appalling. I am embarrassed every time I go back and watch that shit. Other great senses of humor are the British, the Canadian, and the Jewish ones (that one tend to be a good part of all of the above). If you cannot take what I just said lightly, then move on; you have no fucking sense of humor. Or just send me pointers to prove the contrary (YouTube, what have you).

  75. Hey Lauren, in the end, aren’t you playing Seesmic’s game? You definitely increased the buzz around it…

By Julien on Dec 17, 2007

  76. I’ve increased Buzz and planted the seed, so people will now go see I was right and never return.

By Loren Feldman on Dec 17, 2007

  77. You got their(his) attention alright. :-)

By Walter on Dec 17, 2007

  78. Eban, you’re a Loren Feldman fanboy and you’re telling me to get a life? That’s funny. This is a guy that wasn’t even good enough for PodTech.

By Steve on Dec 17, 2007

  79. Steve,

First off, not being good enough for Podtech is not necessarily a bad thing, hell they couldn’t even hold on to Scoble.

Next up, what part of calling you out for not making any sense makes me a Feldman fanboy? In this instance, he is right, get over it.

By the way, you intolerance police must take your cues from Kelly Pickler or something. Loren is called out as a racist for comical remarks not even made about a race.

France is a country, French is a nationality. You need a reboot for your head or something.

Loic Le Meur is just deflecting because he knows deep down that people will realize that Seesmic does suck. Look at Twitter, some of the early adopters that were on it all the time are even criticizing it more now.

By Eban Crawford on Dec 17, 2007

  80. seriously, i don’t know anything about the technology behind this — I just use it. But Loren, I did some digging in to your ancestry and it seems you have French roots…funny, huh. why don’t you just stick to a technology review and keep the race stuff out of it - it’s embarrassing…you’re like possibly as dumb as Bush when you talk like that. You know, ugly American and all.

And Seesmic — why do you even bother responding? Rise above.

And hey, this is fun for all, right…

    By thisislame.com on Dec 17, 2007

  81. Eban, read my post again. I mention nothing about the whole racist tag. I’m simply saying that Feldman takes simple observations that don’t necessarily differ from anything anyone else is saying or provide any real insight and then wraps them in outrageousness and foul language and then pats himself on the back for being a bad boy that everyone else is too PC to handle. Bullshit. If you have something worth saying than all the cursing and name calling is unnecessary. And the fact that he can’t separate his feelings for a product or service from the person behind it makes his “analysis” worthless.

By Steve on Dec 17, 2007

  82. I’m just glad Loren wore a shirt in this video.

  84. This is a guy that wasn’t even good enough for PodTech.

    Irina Slutsky isn’t either.

    But Jay Smooth is.

If that doesn’t speak volumes about Podtech’s common sense, nothing does.

By Vinny on Dec 17, 2007

  85. I couldn’t get Seesmic to work the first time I tried it in alpha.

Never returned. Why should I? There a billions of these things out there. Like you said, Loren, make a webcam video (with Logitech UltraVision), upload to YouTube, Twitter a link to it. Done. Plus you get the SEO juice and potential viralosity of YouTube/Google.

    But I’m no player hater.

    I wish Seesmic good luck.

But never invite people to stuff that is not working right or designed correctly.

I love the French Revolution, Derrida, Surrealism, all French punk and electronic bands, and the French language.

  86. As a European and a Seesmic fan I can honestly say that this is absolutely laugh out loud hysterical.

Europeans, c’mon - we’re sposed to be the guys that roll with the punches, that *get* ‘taking the piss’ as we like to call it here in England - the yanks are sposed to be the stoopid straitlaced ones. Somehow Loren (or Michelle or whatever his girly name is) turned the tables on you all. And good on him.

This is pure comedy; enjoy it for what it is. Seemic is an interesting enough concept to not need to sit in some ivory tower, away from detractors and fun-poking.
It’s not going to affect the success of Seesmic, or anything else. Vive le difference, I say.

By Will McInnes on Dec 17, 2007

  87. This is absolutely beautiful!

It is a perfect example of what happens when someone decides to take a stand and say something that is not lock-step in sync with the rest of the blogworld.

You see what happens when you take a stand, when you have your own opinion, when you say what you believe instead of saying what everyone else WANTS you to say?

You get more traffic and stronger influence!!!!

    I love it.

    Excellent work LF.

  89. Ohhhh ! ONE american guy understand how Lemeur is only an egocentric and looser .. That’s great ! It’s quite strange that nobody in US tries to know why Lemeur left France and all his fans :-)) Read for example loiquejemeur.blogspot.com to understand who is exactly the great Lemeur, only a sellfish show without nothing behind (but very polite.. allways thanks you and smile on the face)

By Philemon on Dec 17, 2007

  90. Hey nice review you motherfucking bitch (is that the way I am supposed to continue a conversation such the one you started?? I would guess so) Well I’m having way more fun on Seesmic than watching the piece(s?) of shit you produced, and even with Americans, can you believe that dude ????

  92. ann, is it you? you’re like ann coulter sans the slutty skirts. you could get one…it would be adorable. then do another video rant. about something really lame, like, uh, the internet. yeah it would be awesome!

    By thisislame.com on Dec 17, 2007

  93. What’s Seesmic? Like a video Twitter? Odd. It’s like there is some content black hole and everyone is trying to fill it with gadgets. Don’t they know it just makes the hole bigger when we constantly find new ways to expose our lack of content?

No need to answer of course. I just don’t get it.

Anyway, I laughed about the accents part and the hyperbole. Two people seemed to almost get the irony of having a man with such a thick and geographically distinct accent bagging on accents. It was quite self-deprecating in a way.

Also kind of charming, racist confusion aside, how sweetly some of these people responded to you in disagreement.

In any event, thanks for the heads up on it. Sure I will be reading more of it later if so many are as protective of it as they seem. They will tend to it and make it a better gadget.

By Boo on Dec 17, 2007

  94. Great job Loren. You hear people talk about this Seesmic service like its going to be the next big thing. I don’t see it myself. Most people are not comfortable in front of the camera. And you can’t use this from your chat client or mobile device. So I think that the uptake will be minimal.

You’ve used the service and had the guts to give your opinion, your way. I take your side.

By Rob Safuto on Dec 17, 2007

  95. Bon, this is excellent, I’d really like to see whether you say more mean things about Loïc on this site, but all I get for most of the pages is:
HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden - Users from your country are not permitted to browse this site.
(I’m from France, had to use a proxy to post this).
Kepp trashing bad projects and bad people, this one enlightened my day.

  97. Hehe, superb, loving it.

I use Seesmic, and I’m European, but I loved this post. It’s true! That’s what makes this great.

The opinion of the concept is of course personal, but the main of what you’ve mentioned in the undertaking is bang on. I enjoy Seesmic’s concept - however I totally see your points.

… And there was me thinking Americans didn’t get British humour. Spot on! :)

  98. What about Youtube ??? Youtube offers to upload video from webcam, proposes to post a video answer to an another video, etc…
What is the + of Seesmic ???
And only a few people are so happy to publish videos about themselves.. I think that Seesmic has to read more stuffs like this : http://www.businessweek.com/technology/content/nov2007/tc20071119_701831.htm?chan=technology_technology+index+page_top+stories

  99. I don’t understand the point of seesmic. Have they not figured out that we don’t need yet another social network? Why not post to YouTube and then twitter/facebook it? Or use EyeJot’s video-to-twitter thing?

By Clarence on Dec 18, 2007

  100. Loren you always have a way with words.
Sorry guys, but you can’t help but just laugh, even a little.

By Clintus McGintus on Dec 19, 2007

  101. The only thing funnier and more insight-providing than Loren’s outrageous and searing review is the needlessly impassioned mudfight that’s followed in the comments. You people are like gas-soaked paper balls standing next to a bonfire, complaining about heat.

By Geoff on Dec 19, 2007

  102. Seriously now: Seesmic is a scheme based on schrewd communication and simply hot air - Loic is going to leverage is schmooze- based network to make us believe that his company is somethings serious and new (go to ustream, blogTv, knockaTv, current TV,PyroTV, etc,etc or simply YouTube !). It is not. Actually, Loic has never been able to grow any of his 5 past companies past the 1.5 USD million sales mark - He could be a journalist though.

But he he is defintely incapable of setting up a serious business. From Steve Jobs to Marc Andreesen , none have founded 5 companies in 8 years like he claims he did… that is so many economical failures. I have to be fair though: His only success was RapidSite France, back in 1998, a web hosting company sold for USD 15 million.. founded by his wife..No comment..

Getting Harrington on board with Conway is just a coin flipped in the air, and they know it -They believe Loic will make enough noise to create value. I know Conway quite well actually.

But Loic: Noise is not a value when it comes to a technologically weak project. Noise makes it worse.

  103. Venture

Very interesting analysis, anything else we need to know about? It is such a shitty product it’s nuts. Me and my boys could code a better site in like 3 days, seriously. All just VC bullshit.

By Loren Feldman on Dec 26, 2007

  104. This video obviously struck a chord with the French tech community. Why they hold Loic Lemeur as their flag bearer, I really don’t know.

I mean what was he thinking with that ‘look at me in the lap of luxury’ video he posted on the 1938 Media upload wall? It’s a tasteless display of wealth and arrogance.

To be quite honest, I’m surprised to see stuff like dailymotion and netvibes coming out of France - a country that still uses Neanderthal services like minitel

    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/37/Minitel1.jpg

What it tells me is that times are changing and that there may be some hidden talent on the Gallic front. We’ll have to wait and see.

    Now for the French community:

Bon les français là, ça y est, vous vous êtes bien soulagés? Tout ce que vous avez réussi a faire ici est de renforcer la percpetion d’une communaté française insulaire et orgeuilleuse.

Plutôt que de perdre votre temps a débattre des conneries de ce genre, je vous conseille de réorienter votre énergie vers la création de meilleurs sites internet. Comme ça, personne ne pourra se moquer de vous.

By luca on Feb 8, 2008

  106. LOL… I would have liked your video if you hadn’t been such a representative of USA’s ignorance and arrogance (Geography101: America is a continent, not a country).

However, I agree that those community sites are just stupid. and the people on them are usually that retarded. I’m talking about MySpace, Facebook, etc. All the same shit.
