Hi Loren, the new player code is on the black seesmic.com, we are updating the ajax version right now, sorry about this.
If you want to show the new player and get replies here is the code:

Done. BTW BlackSeesmic.com would totally rock.
ReplyResponding to the Civil War..iT’s called Being Snuffed Out.. 1938Media Style~
Loren, are some of those guys connected to Fring.Com?
ReplyDr. Who,
What the fuck are you talking about? I like you.
Replyahahahaah blackseesmic.com! thanks for changing the code we are updating the other version now.
ReplyIm telling you Loic. Blackseesmic.com would be awesome. You need to get as nichey as possible. I know for a fact that lesbianseesmic.com would be huge.
ReplyI think beardedseesmic.com could change the entire industry and possibly usher in Web 3.0. On a related note, the hair on that guys face is threaded much better than Seesmic’s player. I would put the valuation of that beard at $10 million minimum.
ReplyBearded Dave again appears on 1938media.com to demonstrate why this kind of thing just doesn’t work. Normal people were not meant to do video. It takes some kind of talent.
[For the record, Yes. I’m doing everything I can to suppress an Amanda Congdon joke right now]
Speech is as much a performance art as anything and there’s nothing worse than watching a person without that talent just sit there and talk for 5 minutes. Geez.
Replywhat’s up with all the scary bearded dudes on Seesmic, this is creepy.
Reply“I do always like the side with the guys who have money.”
That struck me as odd. Why do you feel that way? You seem too young and not rich enough yet to be that cynical.
Replygotta root for the underdog with kosso.. Seemic can destroy them with their war chest…
Kosso: got to raise some money bro
ReplyMy version of the facts

Can someone explain why the interface for phreadz looks remarkably similar to that of http://slideshowpro.net/
ReplyNo wonder this guy built Phreadz in a day. As far as I can see he didn’t build it, he is using the application “Director” from Slideshow pro. Loren or anyone else reading this comment should point this out to Loic as well.

Check out the video part of Directors feature.
ReplyGary, I am here, but I really do not want to get into this more… Kosso is fantastic, Kosso is weak, Kosso is a star, I am Goliath and the bad full of money guy, so he is right in any case, but I appreciate you sending me this information and thank Loren for being the media where everything happens. I like you all.
ReplyI’d go with Phreadz. Seesmics player looks bulky.
ReplyLoren, I’m glad you are not “taking sides”, and as I’ve said previously, this should not be seen as a win or loose for phreadz or seesmic.
Sure, there are similarities between seesmic and phreadz. the same way there are similarities between seesmic and youtube - video.
Video is only part of the VITAL tools on phreadz - Video, Images, Text, Audio, Links.
I really hope things move on from this seesmic vs phreadz thing so both networks can get on with developing their tool sets and actually get on with video conversation symbiosis.
When Seesmic first launched in pre-alpha, a major aim was to be the video dashboard, with a rich API allowing you to link from anywhere to anywhere.
Phreadz gives you the ability to start or reply to conversations using a range of external services, like blip.tv, youtube, slideshare, qik as well as seesmic - all done through the relevant API’s.
Network symbiosis. No win or loose. Can we move on now please.
ReplyHave you noticed that Loic raises $6 million each time he mess with someone ?
Fascinating !
Replyas far as I can tell, they’re all freaks. That said, I generally like the strange, broke self-financed guy over the guy with $$, unless the strange guy is still living in his parents basement, eating him mommy’s cooking. and plays second life. or twitters too much. which is worse?
all of this knowing that the little guy will get crushed in the end. This isn’t Star Wars.
such is life.
Replysecond thought: I’m pulling for which ever one the guy with the wild beard uses.
I like the feel of phreadz. and starting to like this video conversation thing a little more.
Replyre: SlideshowPro. That’s right.
I bought the license to use the SlideShow Pro player on Phreadz. (Though it doesn’t support the audio and powerpoint/slideshare/YouTube which phreadz supports).
I have customised the SSP widget and PHREADZ generates the required xml formats in the API to support SSPs playback requirements.
Also, I’ve been in touch with SSP to support the other stuff which phreadz supports.
If they can’t add the support, I’ll build a fully bespoke verison, as it’s pretty easy with the phreadz rss or json or opml - based apis.
Replybtw. for the observant viewers, you might also see that the standalone version of the play in phreadz is also built on a customised version of a bought and licensed version of Jeroen Wijering’s awesome Flash media player component
A bargain, available here at http://www.jeroenwijering.com/
cheerz!

Good to hear from Kosso about his SSP License. The only handicap I see of using SSP Director, is that the license does not permit monetizing its use. So unless someone just wants to build a public utility for the fun of it, it does not seem to make sense. Possibly the better alternative is Jeroen Wijeng’s player. But have not read their licensing details.
ReplyHi Gary. I don’t use ‘SSP Director’, I just use the SSPro Flash component on one domain. There’s no money being made from it and we’re not open to the public - as yet. But rest assured I’ll be building my own, which will support all the media which Phreadz supports. Both this and Jeroen’s product, are great. Highly recommended for rapid application development and concept building.
ReplyHi Kosso, I think this is a good example of comment dialogue where the exchange of conversation benefits the author, the commenter, and the observers. Best of luck with you project.
