It’s horribly boring and technically a mess even with the now ubiquitous “HD Camera.”

I’m cracking up because I’m watching you on a Sun monitor right now.
But yeah, I don’t really give a crap about Sun. They made great products at one time, but I couldn’t explain why they were great or even what they were used for without your eyes glazing over.
These days, they are struggling for survival. Their server business has been killed by cheap Intel hardware. Their software business has been killed by Linux. I tried installing Solaris on something a couple years ago and it was horrible — it was 1998 all over again. 1996, even.
I’ve gotta disagree with you on the not being able to think of anything I’d do for 34 minutes though. I just can’t describe it here.
ReplyEveryone’s weird-platform server business got killed. I would argue that it’s more from refusal to change than the hardware differences alone. Sun still does business like it’s 1997.
Replyyou say 34 minuites - I say 234mb - YUP 234MB if you want to download it!!!
Needless to say I watched via streaming for a few minutes till I gave up.
Got to love the umbrella stand prop - it’s a bit distracting and seems in the way.
And you’re right - great sound on the guest, whereas Scoble’s was horrible.
Scoble seemed to threw him off a little with “Why does Sun matter anymore” - the pause spoke volumes to me.
The only good thing you can say is the show is new so it can only get better and hopefully they’ll cut down the length of the show - max 15m is good, me thinks, 10m even better.
ReplyI just love how you pull no punches and mince no words..Your reviews make me howl!
ReplyDude,
I think you were smoking to much and the nicotine rotted your brain.
The Scoble Show actually rocked. Of course he did do the whole Montana tour.
It’s amateurish but it rocks. Again your wrong. But whatever.
ReplyI agree completely, the show in general is boring and way too long. To tell you truth, that Sun interview would have been boring if it was only 10 minutes long.
ReplyThe Scoble Show is the greatest thing since sliced bread. It’s a shame some people just aren’t capable of appreciating it’s greatness.
Their loss.
ReplyIt’s easy to be a critic, but you may want to take some of your own advice. Do I need to go down the list of issues with your own company projects:

Plenty of improvement ahead of you. Do your clients actually pay for these spots, or did you do them for free so that you can have a portfolio page?

Replyyou know, the “jason’s place” videos really disqualify you from having any relevant opinion on anything. it’s like you’re trying to be a troll, but not succeding in that either.
Replyoh and scoble has an umbrella.. you have a lamp.
ReplySun monitor? Don’t make me laugh. Sun NEVER made a monitor. They couldn’t, even if they wanted to. They just brand products from OEMs. I’m not even too sure of their servers…
ReplyScoble shows are a way in where most don’t go, as raw as it comes. That will be the closest you get to a major CEO, sorry.
Ya gotta appreciate Scoble linking to this review.

[...] So i posted a few weeks ago about how I thought that Scoble’s shows were too long and a bit boring. Big mistake on my part. This guys fans are more dedicated than Madonna’s. Wow. I’ve been reading the comments laughing my ass off and I figured I’d chime in. [...]
