Scoble Is A Rockstar And His Fans Are Rabid - Who Knew

    November 24, 2006 – 9:14 pm

So I posted a few weeks ago about how I thought that Scoble’s shows were too long and a bit boring - big mistake on my part. This guy’s fans are more dedicated than Madonna’s. Wow. I’ve been reading the comments laughing my ass off and I figured I’d chime in.

    2. … wait a second… did I just hear you say that you’re a comedian?!?

      Now that’s funny! Good one… I can’t stop laughing.

    3. Also, for all the fans out there… can you give us a run down of when you decided to put a shirt on or not? Like, is it related to the subject? Your state of mind? odd vs. even days?

By Jason on Nov 24, 2006

    4. Jason,
I started my comedy career in 1913 as one half of the act “Feldman and McCartney”. We played the vaudeville circuit for many years until my hip went out.

In terms of the shirt thing, excellent question. I’m not sure really, it’s just a vibe thing. Really just depends on my mood I guess.

    5. It’s hilarious seeing Jason Calacanis here commenting about your shirt being on or off, LOL.

    6. Jason is very cool, he’s passionate and cares. We might disagree on some things, but he seems like a solid guy.

    7. Don’t know Calacanis other than what he’s done online and a few direct discussions online. He’s been kind of a goof overall on both fronts. A successful goof for the most part, so props to him there. He sort of reminds me of Biff from Back to the Future. Cautious respect.

On the other hand, I *know* Scoble is a good guy. Met him in person several times. He might have a shaky camera hand, but in the past he’s created some very good content (primarily geek/developer) video interviews. If that’s your bag check out the stuff at Channel 9. They have a nifty interface where you can mix and splice favorite parts of videos sort of a la jumpcut.

BTW, found it odd that you didn’t think anybody knew who Jonathan Schwartz was. His signature ponytail is famous!

      Happy vlogging :)

    8. I don’t know Calacanis or Scoble at all. They both seem like fine fellows. I know who Schwartz is, but still who cares?

I know his audience does, but I don’t.

    9. So the point of your original video where you asked the question — who is Jonathon Schwartz? — was rhetorical. Ok, that makes sense.

By TDavid on Nov 25, 2006

    10. OMG HOW CAN YOU SAY BAD THINGS ABOUT SCOBLE??!?!?!

      Wait, who is Scoble again?

By jvon on Nov 25, 2006

    11. Although I am a Scoble fan, I agree that sometimes they are too long.
Having said that I just hit the stop button.

More importantly, I’d like to see the videos in a windows freindly format.

      wHooiz Clarke Scott?

    12. I guess I should join the Friar’s club.

    13. Daniel,
You absolutely should, the NY one is no longer affiliated with the LA one though. Weird. Anyway, checked out your site, you seem like a kooky cat.

    14. Keep on rockin it man. The Scoble mafia is ridiculous. Anything the guy does is gold in their eyes. Not sure why. How does it help a person to be surrounded by people who can’t objectively criticize.

I said that PodTech was boring and corporate months ago. Sadly that hasn’t changed much with Scoble’s arrival. I think that’s their strategy over there though.
