A note about the language in Barcelona: the official language is Catalan, a mix of Spanish and French. Catalan is different enough from conventional Spanish to be confusing. And “Spanish” is actually something called Castilian. As I recall, people in Barcelona are very proud to be Catalan and, likewise, are very adamant about the difference between their language and Castilian.
That said- that whole Max Roam thing is extremely cool! Have fun and keep us posted.

Hey, old buddy.
I know you’re busy and probably don’t have much time, but if you’re on the Ramblas, The Museum of Erotica has phone sex in four languages and the Fairy Forest Pub has trees, elves, and waterfalls.
I’m jealous! I was in Barcelona back in 2000 with a few friends. I remember nights starting real late and ending real early in the morning. Those were good times. Enjoy!
Loren, while in Spain you’re missing the real action here : the beta-launch of http://live.yahoo.com (the new seesmic-killer by yahoo). Very exciting indeed. Take a look if you have a moment, I think you’ll love it. Better than Qik and Seesmic combined …
About Maxroam, have you seen their pricelist ?!!! Way too expensive (compared to prices in Europe), and in Europe one may use Skype in most next-gen 3G cellphone anyway.
loren, you either are a freakin idiot or you forgot to read the fine lines of maxroam. if anyone calls you there from USA, maxroam will charge you 0.25 euros (around 37 cents) a MINUTE !!! or you have a special agreement with them. but don’t advertise this next deadpool goer.
oh, btw, if you don’t believe me, check this : http://maxroam.com/how-much-does-it-cost.asp enter “spain” then “USA” (i know it’s weird) but check results : incoming calls >> 0.25 euros / minute.
that’s VERY expensive.
Loren
you’re wearing me out Brother, I cant keep up with ya.
@bro
37c instead of a $1.99 whilst roaming on Loren’s normal plan seems like pretty substantial savings to me
we have calls free forwarded to our apartment @ zero cost.

ReplyLoren! Good to see you’ve landed safely!
