If You Can Make It There
February 11, 2007 – 8:17 amI was going to review the show Wallstrip, New York Magazine already has.
Best line-
Cramer is a bona fide market savant. No one at Wallstrip seems to be. Second  and this is more important  the thing is terrible. Really terrible. Watch a few episodes, and you’ll see.

Everybody calls Lindsay Campbell ‘fetching’. They must think she’s a dog.

She’s a pro. A little too stiff, for she has no idea about the stuff they are talking about, but you can see she is a pro.

She’s a pro alright, but the pop-culture shtick does her a disservice. The audience that wants information will be impatient with the goofy comedy.
Wallstrip is a ‘New York lame’.

Yeah, the work is beneath her talent level.

There is a joke about fetching and dog.
But, I’ll leave that to Snoop Dogg.

Supposedly she has a minor part in this season of the Sopranos, but I don’t know anything about it.
I actually like Wallstrip, they do some pretty funny stuff. Really they are working with very dry material, it’s impressive that it’s watchable at all. Lindsay helps a lot with that.

I like her as well. She’s the only reason people might watch it at all. Her looks and personality are the whole show.

Yeah, she is the show.

Some of the writing is clever also, but not consistently so. The show would not work without her. The bit today where she gets the guy from CNBC coming out of the building was great, totally spontaneous.

Oh and I had no idea who the hell he was either. Still don’t.

Actually, as a trader, I find it very hard to watch Lindsay - even if she is a fetching pro. She’s stiff, doesn’t know the jargon and doesn’t care about the market.

Well the whole idea of featuring stocks trading at a high is goofy from a trading standpoint anyway. These are probably stocks that you should have bought six months ago.
I’m invested in mutual funds because I’m a lazy bastard and I’d prefer someone else do the work for me. (Someone with a clue about the market). I think I might be more the target demographic. Or maybe it’s not thought out that much, who knows.
