6 Responses to “I Hate Carl Icahn”
So he grew up in Far Rockaway?
It will be a sad day for superheroes everywhere
if he ever takes over Marvel Comics.
By Vince Williams on May 17, 2008
Being a former employee of Trans World Airlines, I must admit that during the time, I thought Icahn was our savior. What he actually did was prolong our agony while he stripped us of our pensions, and ensured there would be little future for us as an airline.
Mr. Icahn will only pay his dues when he goes to hell…

Carl Icahn, is an immoral and evil man. This man should be behind bars. Yahoo is a pioneer of the web, and he is trying to fire the man who helped write and build the original yahoo in the mid ’90s. That would be like Ford Motors trying to fire Ford, or when Apple Computer fired Steve Jobs a while back. Icahn is a basically a corporate raider, greedy heartless asshole that belongs behind bars.

OMG, what a scheming, evil, conniving monster Icahn is. It is disgusting what he’s trying to do at Yahoo. And what will be even more disgusting is when the rest of the board lets him do it.
Yahoo is fine as it is. The economy is in the dumps, the internet is evolving, every company goes up and down as things change. They are great for me, and I am probably as joe internet as you can be, so if I am happy with them, many, many people are.
Don’t change what ain’t broken. It shouldn’t be all about whether Icahn can make some extra bucks betraying the Yahoo customers, but whether Yahoo can stand firm against being bought out by a company that will use it like a whore and dump it when all the life and use has been sucked out.
Icahn is obviously, obnoxiously, only out for Icahn. Why any decent, intelligent human being would agree to any of his selfish machinations is beyond me. He’s getting older though, and he’s got to have immensely bad karma– maybe his dessicated heart will give out before he does any more damage. It would probably save bazillions of people from heartache.
Otherwise I can’t see anyone actually stopping him if the law won’t. Evil, bad Icahn.

Carl Icahn for weeks has been claming he is out to save Yahoo!. However, his motives and tactics are both questionable at best. Icahn owns about 4% of Yahoo!’s stock, which he bought at about $25 a share. Now that the stock isn’t performing as well as he’d like it to so he wants to force a sale to Microsoft so he can make a quick return on his investment. Mr. Icahn has a history of attempting to take over and liquidate companies so he can cash out. I understand basic human greed may push him to act in this manner but there are a number of things that should be considered.
Mr. Icahn claims to want to save the company. I contend that Mr. Icahn’s brand of saving companies is to gut them, sell them out, and leave employees jobless. All the while, a small handful of large investors make a killing.
On that note, if Icahn is out to “save” Yahoo!, why is he so against their severance plan? He is fighting tooth and nail to remove that plan. Why, one would ask? Perhaps because HE WANTS TO LIQUIDATE THE COMPANY? We’re on to your ruse, Mr. Icahn. Why don’t you just come clean? Admit you are up to you same old tricks! Everyone knows what you’re about so why try to paint a different portrait?!
Mr. Icahn fancies himself as the investor’s advocate. Y!’s stock isn’t performing the way he feels it should be so in the interest of helping the shareholders, he is going to install his own MS-friendly board, fire Yang, and sell off to Microsoft. Microsoft has a history of taking the pieces it wants and then scrapping the carcass. In the end, a very few wealthy investors with large numbers of shares will profit. The average shareholder will see next to nothing. How is this of any great value to the average shareholder? For example, let’s say the average shareholder owns 1,000 shares. If Icahn can raise the stock price by $6-$7 by gutting the company, the average shareholder will gross $6,000 - $7,000. And this would be a one-time payout. So how is he helping anyone outside of the immensely wealthy?
As a shareholder in another organization Mr. Icahn is trying to disrupt, I can say without a doubt, I do NOT want his help. I would much rather give up the $10,000 or so I would profit in exchange for allowing all of the employees to keep their jobs. Maybe there is no longer a sense of compassion in the world, who knows? But disrupting lives and families for personal financial gain is absurd!
Mr. Icahn knew what he was getting into when he made this investment. He knew there is always a gamble involved when investing in the stock market. So he is losing some money. Big deal. He has more money then he will ever spend in his or my lifetime. Instead he would rather recoup his losses at the expense of 1000s of jobs. Either Mr. Icahn lives in some sort of bubble or he just lacks any sense of compassion.
Mr. Icahn, have you forgotten what it means to have to go to work everyday to try and eek out a living for your family? Or do you just really not care who you inconvenience? It’s just business, right? What about the business of supporting a family? What about the business of paying one’s mortgage? We’re not all blessed with the same business acumen that you possess and therefore do not have the luxury of sitting around all day, looking to disrupt companies and the lives of their employees. Why don’t you think about someone other than yourself and your wealthy cronies? Is fattening your already inflated bankroll such an obsession to you that you find it completely acceptable to shatter the lives of others? Why don’t you retire, enjoy your money, and take up a hobby? There are people who need to support their families and in this already tough economy, you aren’t making it any easier by stirring up the pot. I almost detect a certain Shadenfreude in your modus operandi, Mr. Icahn. It almost seems as if you enjoy destroying families and lives. Shame on you, Mr. Icahn. You should be ashamed of yourself!

Agreed on all the views above. Maybe we should look deeper on this 70 years old man… who is behind him? who came out the idea of attacking Yahoo. who needs money non-stop? why ?
Jews connection? Israel homeland?
