Awww shit… Does that mean we’re not real friends?
*sigh*
Well, if that’s the case, then I can stop stalking you… Oh, and that sandwich you just ate looked good…
I mean…
Yeah…
Ok…
ReplyExactly, we didn’t become pals through Facebook. We were two idiots who found each other organically. I guess I’m just a romantic like that. That’s the way it should happen, what is the fucking point of rss for chrissakes. To follow your “real” friends or others who matter to you for whatever reason.
ReplyYou’re 100% right. I think the word friend is so diluted AND deluded at this point that people think because some celebrity adds you to their Facebook / Twitter / Pownce / MySpace friends list, you’re actually buddies.
Facebook is nice to stay connected to people you’d otherwise ignore with very little effort on your part. I’ve used it for that and finding old friends, but aside from that, if I wanna know what’s going on with my actual friends, I do it the old fashioned way.
I text ‘em
ReplyThere are no celebrities on the internet. They are too busy being real celebrities.
ReplyYou should post 4 or 5 minute audios or something of your business ideas and shit you have floating around in that thick skull of yours.
ReplyFacebook is what you make it. If you think its mainly a gossip/stalker site, then thats because most people like to gossip, or would be a stalker if they could do it legally. I know a lot of times my friends would talk about who broke up with whom, or whose pictures look too “suggestive”.
But the great thing is if u dont want people to know, just dont post that kind of stuff. And for those people who like being the center of attention, they can whore themselves out through facebook as much as they want. and i get to stalk them when they post “suggestive” pictures. lol
ReplyI’m fairly new to the Facebook. These news feeds, updates and the Beacon all seem transparent enough. But I don’t think anyone is going to go to the effort to monkey with them. It would be funny though. (Funnier if returned or canceled purchases were also included but that isn’t going to happen.)
Still, while the somewhat savvy understand the difference between “friends” and friends, huge organizations are clumping the whole under the heading predators. Teachers’ unions are among the worst, but other companies are also telling/strongly suggesting their employees to eliminate profiles there and elsewhere.
So while Facebook friends may or may not be real friends the day may come when that list alone could be held against a person. Not to mention purchases. Working for one company and publicly buying from another on Facebook may have repercussions. Friends just aren’t what they used to be.
Sorry for rambling. Found you at random from the ORG.
ReplyBoo are we allowed to tell people we are members of the ORG? Thanks for your two cents my fellow ORG person.
Replywhat’s the point of Facebook?
