I love Steven P. Jobs. He along with Joe Namath and Mike Rowe. Anyway, Steven P. has this iphone thing. I have two. I like it a lot. I was a Mac guy before I got it. So Google is run by three really smart guys. Two idea guys, one better looking than the other, and a manager type guy. So these guys got a phone thing also now. It has a keyboard and a itty bitty little ball and a touchscreen.

ReplyLoren - is this the same phone reviewed/previewed weeks ago on engadged/gizmodo and every other freakin tech site? cool that you have one, but you don’t need to blow so much smoke up your own ass about it.
ReplyTM
You’re in such good shape. G-d your fucking smart. I apologize for dropping the ball on that phone call. I will make it happen shortly. You are going to blow it out again. Wish you all the success possible. Hope GK doesn’t steal your shit again. I’ll go beserk.
ReplyHow is this a game changer? Hasn’t blackberry been doing this for a while now, sans touch screen?
ReplyIts the OS stupid.
ReplyNice whiteboard Loren
ReplyIts googles.
ReplyThing is though, it’s ugly. iPhone is 10 times better looking then the android. But, it will be fun to see if they can take some market shares from iphone.
ReplyGood stuff. Did they let you keep it?
One thing I heard is that the camera can’t record video yet, which it reeeeally needs to, especially these days.
ReplyThat little head nod at the end was great.
ReplyYeah, no thanks. I’ll wait until version 2 comes out. You know it’ll be better than this one — they always are.
Replyis it a dick over your head on that white board?
Replyok, seriously, for those who don’t understand why Android is a real game changer. What most Apple fans underestimate is the power of the ‘COMPASS MODE’ on the G1.
This is precisely what will allow true AUGMENTED REALITY applications to be developed.
Remember that Japanese company (Tonchidot) that showed everyone at TC50 what future could be like with augmented reality. Unfortunately, their demo was a fake because the iPhone has no compass.
But guess what? A team has already developped something similar for the G1. The company is called Enkin. A team of 2 german fucking bastard geeks.
Check this out, it’s absolutely amazing: http://www.enkin.net
Enkin has a WORKING PRODUCT and it’s a true revolution (actually Google is in discussion to buy their company).
Just imagine the possibilities for Google, create something similar to AdWords: businesses will pay to have promotions and ads displayed in real life on your phone through augmented reality with the G1.
And this will come sooner than you think.

ReplyThe iPhone is so much “better looking” that it actually looks gay. But I guess you already know that when it’s vibrating up your ass.
I hate iPhone’s virtual keyboard. I like to keep long nails.
Replyamazing stuff Loren. How you pull off getting this was amazing. To your point on personal branding you have small traffic but can make a phone call and get things done.
Techcrunch and Scoble must be pissed that you can walk right into their backyard and get exclusive scoops.
You are the real deal man!
ReplyLoren,
Again you blast the ass off that yuppie-kissin Jobs!

ReplyMost products that google releases is undesign. I can’t think of a product that is looking really good. That is a big difference with all the products that Apple is releasing. All product have great design. So this will only be interesting for the tech savy.
ReplyGood Bye iPhone Love Loren Feldman By the way.. Did you have Cotton Mouth during the Intro???
ReplyI have a question..
If someone you know s ‘ahem’ working on a Google Android killer would you also video that as well?
I agree the keyboard feature puts them at a running start however they goofed up in several key areas that will now be exploited by a competitor,,
ReplyHow much has Google paid 1938 media for this post ?
Ok, Google Android is a good OS. But, currently, G1 is not a revolution regarding iPhone, but a revolution regarding Windows Mobile, RIM, Nokia… This first phone is not better than iPhone. Why try to prove us with this post ? I think that Google Android and iPhone could be in a battle in the next year, but not currently.
Oh… “actually Google is in discussion to buy their company” maybe bu I think that Chris doesn’t know about it
ReplyIn an entirely different sphere, I’ve observed the virtual keyboard vs. true keyboard contrast when switching between my old iPAQ (no keyboard) and my old Motorola Q (keyboard). Perhaps because I spend more time on the Q, I find a true keyboard preferable.
While I must insert a disclaimer that my employer is developing an Android phone, it will be interesting to see how Android plays out on different hardware. Apple has consistently taken a “we’ll develop it” approach, while Google tends to play better with others. Time will tell which strategy is more successful.
ReplyI’d love to get my hands on one. Think it is or deff. could be better than the iPhone.
Replydude - why are you wearing women’s sunglasses?
no iTV for you.

ReplyFirst time being on your site.
you are a huge D-bag. you suck, and i am forwarding your shitty site to all my friends.

ReplyRick ” We don’t Give a Fuck what you do” Don’t let the door hit you in the Ass!!!
ReplyDoomed. No matter how much geeky developer pants wetting happens. Telecom economics and scale, deem it so. Plus Google sucks royally at software, and Vic Gundotra is on the team, short sell signal already.
ReplyDig the shades.
ReplyLorne,
You need to get and touch a few smartphones. Good hard keyboard…hmm….RIM, Samsung, Sidekick, other HTC’s. It’s not the unique aspect of this device.
How about some discussion about the OS. That’s the interesting part. The HTC hardware is 2006 S**t. Then again, not noticing Android perhaps answers the relevancy question.
ReplyAndroid is a TRUE multitask OS. That only makes it an iPhone killer.
ReplyLF-
ReplyCurious on the integration with Google Apps (premier). 1) Do you use? 2) If so, did you get chance to see the benefit over IPHONE w/ google app. I’ve searched for some kind of feedback on this but have not heard any first hand comments
Scott
The consumer g apps are tightly integrated.
ReplyNice video 1938 media.
Get all the latest new of the G1 Phone at http://www.g1phone.blogspot.com
ReplyNice glasses, NOT.
ReplyThe phone looks good. Looking forward to trying it out.
Loren, you need to say “Loren Feldman, 1938 media” more often, otherwise you are never going to topple Nicole Scherzinger in the self promotion stakes. You probably could’ve squeezed it in two more times in that video. I’m not even sure you’re trying anymore.
Congrats on the scoop.
ReplyAndrew,
ReplyWho Fuckin Died and made you Director???
you might want to cahnge your 303 to 404!!!
@Jimmy The Rub,
Sorry, in retrospect I now see that I was a bit flippant. Thanks for the call out. I’ll watch myself in the future. Have you ever considered becoming a life coach?
PS: Username changed as per your advice. Ta.
PPS: The potty mouth adds nothing.
ReplyNo touch screen keyboard?
This will never work for us gays.
ReplySo is google becoming a sex shop…that is one humongous and rather crude drawing of a male reproductive organ….AKA Penis
