Don’t Take This The Wrong Way But You Really Blow
March 31, 2008 – 9:15 amWiner says most of you suck, I agree with him. No original thoughts. Just stumbling all over yourselves as you digg a techmeme of nothingness made up of the rehashing of other peoples ideas, because let’s face it. You have no talent and really have nothing to say anyway.

This may be true, But Winer is still a tool.

Thank you for addressing the 900 pound elephant in the room.
By Josh on Mar 31, 2008
Dave Winer is my mentor and he taught me to be how to steal other ideas and circulate them as my own. Why? It doesn’t matter. Traffic matters. I matter. I’m influencial and Loren you’re stupid.
Hey people look at me. I will say or do whatever gets me attention and being orginal isn’t important.

I’m starting a new blog! It’s called blah blah!
Here’s my first post;
blah blah!
blah blah blah! blah blah blah blah blah blah blah! blah blah blah blah blah blah blah! blah blah blah blah blah blah blah! blah blah blah blah blah blah blah! blah blah blah blah blah blah blah! blah blah blah blah.

I agree with you, and Winer, except I don’t believe “talent” has anything to do with being original, assuming I understood you correctly.
By Jim Kukral on Mar 31, 2008
Josh - That wasn’t nice. Be fair. Winer doesn’t look an ounce over 515.

If God switched the blogosphere off would anyone really care?
Could call it ‘blog hour’…
By AndrewE on Mar 31, 2008
ok loren, now what makes you original exactly ? your attitude ?… well, maybe. But is attitude a “content” ?
Loren, what you do is nothing better than these guys. Most of your posts are either rip-offs of TechCrunch’s, or simply a rant about someone else’s website.
When will you start self-analysis ? I personally feel your ego has inflated recently and you’re loosing to what made you original and stand out in the first place : genuine, sincere and constructive website reviews, and most importantly, unbiased by advertising.
For the past 2 months now, all I hear is “Me, Me, Me”. Enough, Loren. Your self-centered recurring themes make me want to vomit. And I’m afraid I’m not the only one to think this, given your decreasing traffic and reduced number of comments on your posts.
Loren, I like you. I think you’re a good guy. But I feel your head is now larger than my ex-wife’s ass.
Thus please do us a favor, get a clue and go back to what you do best : website reviews.

Oh my god. This is insane.
Loren, you mean there is no original content of value on the web??? I disagree. Maybe you should spend some time searching through the blogosphere.
There are lots of original thought leaders out there that are interesting, influential and garnering an audience…
Making blanket statements shows your lack of originality and ideas. Instead of bitching; show your readers 5-10 original bloggers that are doing it right.
I know it is easier to bitch than contribute… looks like you took the easy path; get out of bed and do some research.
Cheers!

First, I listen to nothing Winer spouts, but do agree with him to some degree. Echo-chambering advances nothing.
Secondly, Allen Stern over at CenterNetworks does not, I can promise you, “just rehash what he reads on TechCrunch”. If Allen did that CenterNetworks wouldn’t have the integrity it holds as a growing brand.
Please, before you make accusations, do some research. Maybe even stretch to sending an email to ask. This is just evidence for the other market, that journalism standards are hitting the bottom of the barrel.
Oh, my source? He’s a long time friend from around the birth of CN. I know how hard Allen works. He actually gets out of bed, too.

Wow, a blog post that talks shit about other blogs. Yeah, that’s never been done before. Very original.

Internet is young… we are creating it, and making experiments. We are experimenting dynamics, and methods on how to share knowledge. Also I have to say that everyone has a talent, there is only the need to find it and unleash it… maybe is not on Internet, but building houses. Who knows… Me not for sure. I write my blog without any gain purpose, but because I love to write and share my point of view. I earn money with my job, not by Blogging… A suggestion to everyone, do what you love and give it to the world.

Ed, Very good advice.

I think Shell Puppet™ should have made this post instead. The man’s got bills to pay.

Eduardo is no Shel puppet™, and regurgitating shit with your own spin is still shit.

Interesting that I wrote the same thing 5 days before Dave wrote his. Not crying over sour grapes but Dave stole from me.

I do repackaged some other content because some nights after working full time I just want a quick and easy blog post. However, I do think my site is a refreshing change from all the other pro-hi-tech sites.
By S.P. Gass on Apr 1, 2008
nice one loren! heh… however its all the same shit that was done in the comedian/speaker/radio personality type circuit of the early part of last century … howard stern mixed with a little more masculine fagginess? i dunno. this shit still has more boundaries to cross before it uses what can be communicated via this new medium of social identity.. however we all knew that anyway right?

Where did you find Winer’s post? On Techmeme? You are original, Loren. But Winer is a whiner. And it’s just contributing to the blog clusterfock. And so am I. Doubt you read me too.

I think it was Ray Bradbury that said the internet disproves the 1000 monkey theory (put a thousand monkeys in a room with typewriters and they’ll come up with Shakespeare.)
By Enric on Apr 5, 2008
