Democrats Cave In To Bush (Again) | Washington Hotlist - Politics 2.0

  2. The actions of the Democrats make perfect sense when you consider that they only make these idiotic statements like “waterboarding is illegal” to pander to the leftist fringe of the party, and do not seriously believe it themselves.

Waterboarding has been used exactly three times since 9/11, not since 2003, and has never been ruled illegal anywhere as far as I know.

As for continuing to fund the war, that is simply recognition of the fact that regardless of whether you agree with going in in the first place, we are there now. Simply pulling our troops out is not a feasible option.

Part of me hopes that a Democrat gets elected in 2008 so I can listen to the ridiculous contortions they’ll have to go through to justify continuing the war another four years even though they spent the last five complaining about it.

  3. Lord Jvon decrees that pulling our troops out is not not a feasible option, therefore it must be so.

Bullshit. It is an option, in my opinion, unless King Bush and Emperor Cheney take us to war against Iran, which has been part of Cheney’s plan all along.

It’s perfectly obvious that Cheney is running the show. His sneer is growing larger by the day.

If only the Dems had the balls to impeach his slimy ass.

  4. Jvon,

No one is aware of the extent to which waterboarding has been employed by our military (especially our extremely incompetent intelligence agencies which have demonstrated a repeated knack for erroneously gathering and interpreting data long before Bush took office), making your knowledge of the “facts” above highly dubious and questionable.

Both sides are guilty of pandering to their extremist fringes, not just the Democrats. For example, do Republicans really believe that same-sex marriage is such a threat to heterosexual marriage that an amendment to the constitution is necessary to prevent it? If the threat really is as powerful as Republicans would have us believe, why does ultra-liberal Massachusetts, the first state in the nation to allow same-sex marriage, consistently have the lowest divorce rate among heterosexual married couples in the nation?
