  2. I was at a college football game recently - and they were selling college-branded crocs! What a croc!

  3. The 21st century Birkenstocks. Sloppy footwear for lazy ass people. I don’t mind seeing little kids wearing them (and cute women always get a pass) but when I see an adult male wearing them, I have a nearly overwhelming desire to kick him right in the nuts. Especially if he’s wearing them with socks… Mario Batali are you listening?

  4. That would be me in the socks. I’m wearing a cup Tiga.

  5. Our waitress at the bar last night was wearing knock -off crocs (crock crocs? Croc-offs?). She was wearing them with socks and couldn’t even be bothered to buy the real ones. She lost 5% of her tip for her footwear choice.

  6. Oh Tiga - they’re shooting a Croc commercial in NY and check out their casting breakdown for the “Croc male”:

    [ MALE ]
Mid 20’s-30’s, must be able to get really angry and volatile, a lot of attitude. Charismatic, lots of character in his face. Non traditional looks. Whether itÂ’s facial hair or facial profile, something about this guy is truly unique, and he has to be able to deliver one hell of a scream. Open to ideas. Open to ethnicity.

    COMFORT MAVERICK

    [ MALE ]
50’s to 70’s – Modeled after Dennis Hopper, George Carlin, Robert DeNiro, this guy is in his fifties, sixties or seventies. Sharp dresser, but in an East Village way. The type of guy who looks hip at a bar with kids 35 years younger. Iconic. Could have white hair, must be a unique individual. Caucasian or European. Could have an accent.

    [ MALE ]
mid 20’s to 35– think a Modern Beatnik/Hippie Artist, Allen Ginsberg, The Strokes, Johnny Depp when he was in 21 Jump Street, but with character, or Bob Dylan in his 30’s – artsy, interesting, hip, not just trendy downtown or Williamsburg cool guy.

  7. “Croc male” that pretty much says it all me thinks ;-)

  8. I think I’ll fashion some black steal-toe Crocs and start a new line for “men”. Loren will you be my man model?

By Tiga Beck on Oct 11, 2007

  9. My pleasure, I’m sample size 9 1/2 or 10 depending on your design.

By Loren Feldman on Oct 11, 2007

  10. The cute barista that serves my morning coffee wears furry crocs.

For the longest time I just thought gardeners and bakers etc wore them.

  11. I have them. Black with Black fur.

By Loren Feldman on Oct 11, 2007

  12. That’s the thing, I choose comfort over style and furry crocs I imagine feel really comfy, esp now that fall is here.

By Jecklin on Oct 11, 2007

  13. What’s worse crocks or Uggs?

Here in LA they still where Uggs with short, short skirts….even in the summer (um, that would be all year round).

By Tracey on Oct 12, 2007

  14. I wear those as well. I lived in LA for a long time, forgive me.

By Loren Feldman on Oct 12, 2007

  15. Yeah Loren, but how short is your skirt when you wear your Uggs?

By Tracey on Oct 12, 2007

  16. Uggs and Crocs…I’m pretty sure both of these were named after the sound most people make when they see them. They are fashion onomatopoeias.

  17. Pam, I must be a mute, all I can muster is a huge roll of the eyes!

By Tracey on Oct 12, 2007

  18. I’m so getting a pair of the furry ones for Chicago. I’ll be so pimp.
