This is one of my favorite projects. An extended commercial for a manufacturing company. B & R Machine wanted to show their vendors that they were a state of the art shop. I wanted to show the people behind the company.
Looks nice. a suggestion for next time you film a machine cutting. Have them hook up air to the coolant line or run an ar line with copper tubing and BLOW the chips off while cutting. This gives a nice motion to the shot of chips being blown away at high speeds. The operator can toggle the cool ant on and off long enough for you to get a good shot without damaging the part or tooling. Also, clean the glass and floors. nothing drives a client for a machine shop crazier then a dirty shop. If your trying to sell me precision machining and parts I would be more likely to believe you can make them if your shop isn’t messy. If they can’t get the floor clean for one day get a roll of butcher paper and cover the floors for the shots.
Please email me if you need a drawing of how to hook up an air blow system to a cnc machine
This actually makes for some compelling viewing. It’s got something of a Koyaanisqatsi feel to it.
ReplyThanks Andrew. I loved everything about this project. Shooting it, editing, everything.
